Katya Tsareva

In my artwork I focus on beauty of the modern world, artificial world, that in one way or another bears the presence of humans. I find this expressed in modern architecture and landscapes conquered by people. Beauty of sharp lines is in the heart nature. This aesthetic haunts me and influences everything I create. Humans in my artwork either become a part of this world or are in conflict with it.

I'm also concerned with the place of women and their personal identities, the question of self-representation. I enjoy examining women through their relationships with their bodies, their awareness of their bodies, the language of the body and the way it forms the limits of perception.

I capture the world they way I'd like to see it.

Despite the fact that my main form of expression is painting, I often seek other mediums. I'm interested in translating an idea into spatial reality that is palpable or via video.
